A Streetcar Named Desire at The Academy of Performing Arts
One of Tennessee Williams’ most iconic works, A Streetcar Named Desire tells the story of a woman who has reached her bottom. She reaches out for help but because of her conceit and delusion is unable to show her vulnerability. Instead, she receives more blows at the hands of her brother-in-law. It is a devastating look at the lower middle class of the 1940s in New Orleans.
